Our Client, operating in Ontario, Canada is hiring for their London location. They are a secondary healthcare provider focusing on Cardiology, Nuclear Medicine, Radiology, Gynecology and Pain Management. They are an OHIP certified pain injection facility, fluoroscopy guided. The team comprises 140 doctors and 400 para-medical staff.
They are seeking a Pain Specialist Physician or Interventional Radiologist- with focus on pain injections to become part of their dynamic and expanding team.
Scope of work:
The physician will be required to examine and consult with patients to determine discomfort level and cause of pain. They will recommend tests to determine the extent of pain, help diagnose conditions or manage pain. They also play an essential role in the management of complex pain for those patients that do not fit easily within the constraints of national guidelines or where existing evidence-based pathways do not reflect complex pain situations.
The physician will be required to perform pain management fluoroscopy guided injection procedures that will include spine and small joint injections 2 days per week with an opportunity to increase. The physician can expect to perform procedures including; Nerve blocks, Epidurals and Facet; cervical, thoracic and Lumber, as well as small joint procedures including shoulders, knees and wrists. The physician will also be required to perform patient consultations 3 days per week, prior to spine injections. Fluoroscopy trained Medical Radiation Technologists are provided for procedures and Administrative staff will attend to bookings and check-ins for consultations.

Responsibilities:
Perform patient consultations/workup, diagnosis, treatment, interventional and medical management with follow up to patients in pain management.
Perform all cervical/thoracic/lumbar injections as well as joint injections.
Obtain vital signs and patient information for inclusion in the patient’s medical record.
Prepare the treatment room for examination of patients.
Provide patients with basic instructions and information regarding treatment.
Maintain accurate and complete patient records/documentation.
Maintain inventories on supplies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Earning Potential: For 4 shifts/month (8h/shift) for injection procedures, there is an earning potential of approx. $22,000/month. Any in-house consultation would be in addition to this.
Remuneration: FFS split 70/30
Hours of Work: Flexible schedule. Clinic hours are Monday to Friday; 8am to 5pm.
Skills required:
Medical Degree with specialist training or experience in Pain Management OR Interventional Radiology
Successful candidates will hold certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) OR American Board Certification
Eligible for license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
US Board Certified Physician are eligible for independent license in Ontario
Physicians with Royal College Approved Jurisdiction eligibility eligible for a supervised license with the CPSO
Physicians that have successfully completed the RCPSC specialty examination via the RCPSC Practice Eligibility Route and hold the MCCQE1 exam are eligible for a supervised license with the CPSO
The physician must be able to collaborate with health care staff, patients and their families.
Able to work in a team environment and independently.
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada by holding either an open work permit, Permanent Residency, or Citizenship.
