Our client, a forward-thinking, multi-disciplinary referral and teaching hospital in Northern Ontario, is seeking a full-time Ophthalmologist to join their dynamic team. Overview:
Our clients Ophthalmology department includes an ophthalmic operating room, laser suites & a minor procedure room. The successful candidate will receive full surgical privileges & generous operating room time. They are equipped with a Nd-YAG Laser, & have Argon and diode capabilities providing physicians with a comprehensive ophthalmology practice. There is also an opportunity to teach and mentor medical students and family medicine residents, through affiliation with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine and ophthalmology residents from the University of Toronto.
Remuneration:
Fee-for-Service
Northern Specialist Alternate Payment Plan
HOCC On-Call stipend.
Incentives:
Incentive package up to $60,000 over four years.
Applicants are eligible for a repayable interest-free loan up to $150,000.
Applicants can apply for the Ministry of Health Northern and Rural Recruitment and Retention Initiative (N3R). The N3R Initiative includes an $84,718 incentive over a 4-year period for Canadian citizens and permanent residents who establish a full-time practice.
Qualifications:
Medical Degree with specialist training in Ophthalmology.
Certification or eligibility for certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC).
Eligible for independent license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario by:
Hold American Board Certification in Ophthalmology..
Holding full license in another Canadian province.
Have Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
certification in Ophthalmology..
Eligible to hold an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant
Professor or higher.
US Board certified physicians are eligible for an independent license in Ontario.
Have (or be eligible to obtain) Canadian Medical Protective Associate (CMPA) coverage.
Have a commitment to patient safety and high standards of care.
