Our client, a forward-thinking, multi-disciplinary referral and teaching hospital in Northern Ontario, is seeking full-time Gastroenterologists to join their dynamic team. Overview:
Successful candidates will provide coverage in a fast-paced referral based facility, including patient management and follow-up. This position requires on-call support for the Emergency Department & Hospitalist Program for urgent scopes and consultations. The clients general surgery team has advanced training in colorectal surgery providing the Gastroenterologist with a supportive working environment. There is also opportunity to teach and mentor medical students and family medicine residents, through affiliation with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine.
Remuneration:
Fee-for-Service
Northern Specialist Alternate Payment Plan
HOCC On-Call stipend.
Incentives:
Incentive package up to $60,000 over four years.
Applicants are eligible for a repayable interest-free loan up to $150,000.
Applicants can apply for the Ministry of Health Northern and Rural Recruitment and Retention Initiative (N3R). The N3R Initiative includes an $84,718 incentive over a 4-year period for Canadian citizens and permanent residents who establish a full-time practice.
Qualifications:
Medical Degree with specialist training in Gastroenterology.
Have or be eligible for Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Internal Medicine & Gastroenterology .
Eligible for independent license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario by:
Hold American Board Certification in Gastroenterology.
Holding full license in another Canadian province.
Have Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
certification in Gastroenterology.
Eligible to hold an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant
Professor or higher.
Have, or be eligible to obtain Canadian Medical Protective Associate (CMPA) coverage.
Have a commitment to patient safety and high standards of care.
