Our client, a forward-thinking, multi-disciplinary referral and teaching hospital in Northern Ontario, is seeking full-time Anesthesiologists to join their dynamic team. Overview:
The successful physician will provide anesthesia coverage for 3-4 operating rooms daily, supporting a high volume of surgical cases including over 1,500 inpatient and 2,500 day surgeries annually. The diverse surgical services include general surgery, orthopedics, ENT, ophthalmology/retina, OB/GYN, and urology. Additionally, this role offers the exciting opportunity to contribute to medical education by teaching and mentoring medical students and family medicine residents, through the hospital’s affiliation with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine. This is a fulfilling role for those who are passionate about both clinical excellence and shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Remuneration:
Fee-for-Service
Northern Specialist Alternate Payment Plan
HOCC On-Call stipend.
Incentives:
Incentive package up to $60,000 over four years.
Applicants are eligible for a repayable interest-free loan up to $150,000.
Applicants can apply for the Ministry of Health Northern and Rural Recruitment and Retention Initiative (N3R). The N3R Initiative includes an $84,718 incentive over a 4-year period for Canadian citizens and permanent residents who establish a full-time practice.
Qualifications:
Medical Degree with specialist training in Anesthesiology.
Certification or eligibility for certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC).
Eligible for independent license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario by:
Hold American Board Certification in Anesthesiology.
Holding full license in another Canadian province.
Have Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Anesthesiology.
Eligible to hold an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher
Physicians with Royal College Approved Jurisdiction eligibility eligible for a supervised license with the CPSO.
Physicians that have successfully completed the RCPSC specialty examination via the RCPSC Practice Eligibility Route and hold the MCCQE1 exam are eligible for a supervised license with the CPSO.
Have (or be eligible to obtain) Canadian Medical Protective Associate (CMPA) coverage.
Have a commitment to patient safety and high standards of care.
